I came to adidas through an unusual path when the company I founded in 2005 was purchased by adidas. Located outside of Philadelphia, Textronics Inc. was a pioneer in electro-textiles space. We commercialized some of the first smart sensor garments for fitness and health. For example, sports bras that can monitor EKG and Heart rate or men’s compression shirts that can sense respiration and breathing patterns.
Textronics became adidas Wearable Sports Electronics and is part of the adidas Interactive Business that develops the miCoach fitness monitoring product line. The past 5 years with adidas have been an exciting journey as we continue to push the innovation envelope in the digital fitness and wearable technology space.
