DownloadSimilar tragic events became the inspiration for the adidas Originals Pride Superstar, which recall the events of the Stonewall riots of 1969 in New York City. The colorful splashing graphic was intended to illustrate a riot, a fight and a struggle. The shoe has stomped, kicked and run through the iconic colors of the rainbow flag.
Like the events of that night in 1969, the LGBTQ community will once again persevere, survive and become stronger than ever. This is sport and style coming together to represent a struggle, a celebration, and a bright future for a community that knows well the importance of determination and tenacity in the face of adversity.
