Last year, I encouraged you to develop a healthy balance. I hope you found your balance whatever that means for you – and want to encourage you to take it one step further in 2016.
Create Your Perfect Balance
Go on and discover your perfect balance. Whether this means refining time management skills, creating the perfect balance between clean eating and indulging now and again with friends or making time for sleep and recovery (just like you book time for workouts and happy hours) – take time to valuate what you truly value and what brings you joy. Make space for these items in your daily routine. Further, remember that no matter what you read from this expert or that professional, you need to listen to your own mind, body and soul above all else and apply the newest trends, advice and best practices only when they suit you and your personal wellness journey.

Welcome Change
We’re all familiar with the saying, “The only constant is change.”
“Therefore, it simply makes sense to view change as an everpresent, positive part of our lives – not something to avoid or fear.”
Welcome change and even enthusiastically seek out areas of your life that could benefit from an adjustment or solid housecleaning! Does your Friday meeting schedule overwhelm you? Consider an alternative for this year and enjoy a better transition into each and every weekend. Does your daily drive to work, weekly house cleaning routine or other commitment stress you out on a regular basis? Consider alternatives (hi there, public transport or cleaning service!) to see if small changes help you optimize your schedule, outlook and overall wellness.
The takeaway: Embrace change, challenge the conventional and never, ever forget the power of positive thinking!
Put People First – Always

In the business world and in private life, you’ll discover time and time again that people are at the heart of everything we do. Whether we succeed or fail, experience joy or despair, proactively pursue personal growth (or not) – when we surround ourselves with exceptional individuals and invest time and energy in those we love, the rewards are guaranteed and immeasurable. So remember to put people first in your private and professional lives in 2016.
“At work: hire wisely, praise generously, acknowledge effort (every time) and celebrate success loudly!”
And everywhere: maintain healthy relationships, offer genuine support when possible and delight in the company of your loved ones often! You’ll be grateful that you did… Each and every time.
