Have you ever had that feeling that you have the ability to create the life you want, but can’t find the right way? There is so much information: diets, training programs, career possibilities often contradicting one another, and even inside you are contradicting yourself: do I follow my heart or my head? How confusing!
Take personal responsibility, don’t blame others
We tend to complain and blame outside circumstances (people, the political climate within the company) that “control” our lives, and we make our lives more difficult. If you walk around with that mindset, you will never get to your inner greatness that we all possess. It is up to you to tap into it. No matter what your current “playing field” looks like – your resources, personal and work circumstances, availability – it’s empowering to maintain the faith that your personal power is much stronger than you think.
“It is easy to complain and blame, it is uncomfortable to get in your stretch zone and achieve the things you want in life.”
If you really want to change things in your life, you need to get into your stretch zone and talk to the person who can actually act upon your feedback. But that is frightening and uncomfortable, right? So we just prefer to stay in our comfort zone.
If you stay in your comfort zone and continue to blame someone else for your lack of success, you will never become successful. If you want to be successful in your life, you have to face the truth: It was YOU who thought the thoughts, created the feelings and based upon that you made your choices and actions that have taken you so far in your life. IT WAS YOU.
Getting comfortable with discomfort
So let’s get back to my life, how I put this all into practice and got uncomfortable. As a result of working hard, I have always neglected my health and, now I have turned 40, it is an extra effort as you are getting older. So if I stayed in my comfort zone, I could say: you know what it is like, after having a child, and aging, my body just isn’t that fast anymore and losing weight is twice as hard. I would have been w(h)ining and dining with someone like-minded.
“Instead, I took the decision to reinvent myself through the power of sports and commit to do what it takes to achieve my desired level of fitness.”
That means I assigned my greatest resource, time, in a different way and reduced my bad food intake. And I took the decision to live my life according to healthy habits and successful principles. THAT mental mindset has changed my way of looking at life, and I found my health and balance by following these principles on a consistent basis.
And to practice what I preach, to put myself in the stretch zone, whilst you read this article, I will conduct a four-hour trial workshop on health and success for 80 people, stepping up my game as normally I train groups of maximum 12. Terrifying? YES! Necessary to reach my desired healthy balanced lifestyle and business goals? YES! In line with my life’s purpose? YES. So I take the necessary action that is uncomfortable.
So again, I am calling all creators to get into the habit of stepping into your stretch zone, find your health and your balanced lifestyle by implementing success habits and a healthy mindset.
Creating the New…YOU!
